From a friend:
The current land speed record is 760.343 held by thrust cc
Whereas the z32 is 260.87
Q:1 diff in speed
Q:2 convert both to KPH
Q:3 how many G's would each be car be at
Q:4 if both vehicles were On an infinitely long track and the z32 had a 50 year head start how long would it take for the thrust xc to catch up (state in answer in days for accuracy)
Also give the exact mileage (to the nearest 10th place) of when it passes it
Q:5 how much fuel would be consumed by the z32 in gallons by the time it got overtaken by the thrust xc (assume avg of 15mpg) state answer in gallons and liters
There will be a Z related prize, supposedly.
So far I have the following:
1. Difference in speed is 499.473 MPH
2. Speed in KPH is:
1223.653445 KPH for the SSC
419.829569 KPH for the Z
803.823876 KPH difference
Anyone want to help with the rest? Also, how would you calculate the G's if the speed doesn't change?

If it's at a constant speed, then there is no acceleration, but they're on earth so, 1G.

You can't calculate g's without knowing a change in speed and a corresponding change in time.

Use point slope form-Y=MX+B. Where M is slope, and B is where the line intersects the Y axis. You can put any number into X you want to and Y will be different every time.

what Z32 can do 419km/h? That's Veyron territory

Speed record one.

there is no G is the speed doesnt change. You only experiance G's if there is a change in motion. (either Acceleration or change of direction)
(working in miles)
4: you take the distance the Z has as a head start ->260.87 X 24h/day X 365day/yea (assuming we skip leap years) x 50 = 114,261,060miles head start (let this equal x so I dont have to write it out again)
take the difference in speed (as Z32 is still moving) and divide total distance by that speed to get hours needed (x/499.473 =228645.5 hours.
divide that by 24 to get days (228645.5 / 24= 9526.8 days
5:
find out total time traveled by Z ( 365 days X50 years + 9526.8 =27776.89 days (lets round to 27,777)
260.87 MPH/15 MPG = 17.4 (roughly) gallons used per hour
17.4 x 24 hours a day x 27,777days = 417.6 gallons per day x 27777 days= 11,599,675.2 gallons
EDIT: in L that is 43,909,888.33 (assuming gallon was american gallon)

#4 27,781.8 days, and 506,968,759.3 miles
#5 33,797,917.29 gallons, and 127,939,034.38 liters

oh, well in that case I got the SSC would over take the Z32 in the 76th year. working on the day now.. I'm using excel and it's rounding is fairly shit but it should be roughly accurate

by the end of the 42nd day of the 76th year.
Z32 will have traveled 280,114,391km's
SSC will have traveled 280,117,685.5 km's
at 23.522/100km's the Z32 will have used 65,888,507.05102L [(280114391/100)*25.522]
that's 43,823,107.370 US Gallons.
I could be
incredibly
far off though.

It would take Thrust 9533 days to pass a Z32 at 260.87MPH with a 18,250 day head start.

it's my mistake. my mpg:L/100km was off by a looong way. I misread the chart.
Should have been 15.681L/100km's not 23.522L
so (279877434.16465/100)*15.681 = 4388758045.13587 Litres total.
